The ICSC is the Secretariat for the Sustainable Cities: PLUS Network (Partners for Long-Term Urban Sustainability), an international peer learning Network of cities sharing experiences, expertise and tools to undertake long term planning for urban sustainability. The PLUS Network has received funding to strengthen the capacity of local authorities and other stakeholders in Dakar (Senegal), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Durban (South Africa) to develop integrated long-term sustainability planning with a minimum of 30 year horizon and implement short-term demonstration projects.
To that end, the PLUS Network has partnered with eThekwini Municipality to launch Imagine Durban, a council-led, community-driven visioning process aimed at creating an integrated, long-term sustainability plan for Durban. The Plus Network has created a four month internship position to provide a senior student or a new entrant to the job market with an opportunity to participate in a long term planning project. In particular the internship will focus on monitoring the Imagine Durban demonstration projects.

This position will report directly to Margaret McKenzie, Project Office - PLUS Network, based in Durban
