| Energy saving workshop for hospitality industry |

eThekwini Municipality's newly formed Energy Office has begun a programme in which it will be addressing different sectors of industry on how to save energy. This forms part of the City's Switch off, Unplug and Save 10% campaign. Programme Manager, Manoj Singh said, "Industries are the largest users of electricity in any city and by assisting them to reduce consumption, we will save a lot of energy. This targeted, sector specific approach will enable the Energy Office to ensure that topics discussed are relevant to the industry we address. This forms part of a broader plan to encourage businesses to also cut down on their consumption." For the first workshop, the office is inviting all hoteliers and those in the hospitality industry. The workshop will focus on air-conditioning, pool pumps, lighting, and heating. The event will take place as follows:
