The Umbumbulu Library is now officially open. Umbumbulu Library is at Umbumbulu, inside the Sizakala Centre. It started to operate in September 2009 but an official opening was held on the 9th of February 2010. Learners and educators from different schools came for the opening and they were very happy to see the library in operation. Now they know that if they need information which concerns their school work they will be able get it from this library. Mbali Mgwaba, who is a library assistant, showed everyone how the library operates. She also advised people to ask if they need more information so that she can help them. Lindy Shange, also a library assistant, encouraged learners to get membership cards so that they would be able to borrow books from the library and also, just as important these days, have access to the internet. Zanele Shange is 28 years old and lives in Umbumbulu, with her two-year old son Wandile. She is involved with the eThekwini Municpal Libraries' Ulwazi Programme.
