obed.jpgToday we celebrate Africa Day. We celebrate the people, the diverse cultures, the achievements, the beauty and the splendor of our great continent. I call on all citizens of our city to commit themselves to building a strong, united and prosperous Africa. We must work together to celebrate, develop, protect and build our continent.

At this time we also note with grave concern the recent attacks on foreign national’s in parts of our country. The eThekwini municipality wishes to reiterate our unequivocal condemnation of such xenophobic acts. These attacks go against our human rights culture and weaken our campaigns to build a global community that is free from poverty and oppression.

We call on people to take a firm stand against such violent acts and treat them as hate crimes. Such acts can only take society backwards and open the wounds of racism and intolerance against which so many of our people fought.

We call on all South Africans to spare no effort in speaking out against acts of xenophobia in any form.

The eThekwini municipality calls all civil society organizations, state institutions and security agencies work together to eradicate all forms of racism and xenophobia in our society.

We believe that through the recognition of the crucial role played by the international community in South Africa’s liberation, all South Africans will work together to ensure that we build a better world where people of different nations and races co-exist and live in peace and harmony.

Let us all celebrate Africa and build a strong united Africa.

We as human beings have no aims except producing and consuming more and more.Hope is as many think to have desires and wishes.Desiring for better cars,houses,etc.are people who lusts for more consumption.Faith is not weakness but conviction about the not yet proven.Hope and faith are essential qualities of life individually and socially.Hope and faith are essential qualities of life.Man and society are resurrected every moment in their faith and hope.Man has struggled for freedom and happiness and now it ceases to be human and has become transformed into an unthinking and unfeeling in killing,raping and racial violence.I confess I am not happy with the ideals of life held out by those who think that the normal state of human beings is that of struggling to get on.It seems that conservatives and liberals are blind in this respect.In todays age the man and women has become a thing and ceases to be human.We as South africans have little sense of integrity or self identity.The poor.unemployed,honest,abused children and women senior citizens of our country feel powerless,lonely and depressed.The most important needs in our country to address this disease is God?s love,tenderness joy,peace and happiness.The new attitude toward life can be improved if we in this country could contain our ego,greed and selfishness,separation from his fellow man.The violence and crime in this country is caused by psychic and spiritual blindness and emptiness and the result hate against life.This country can only be saved if our attitude towards God change.Love and tolerance we preach but our heart is still stony.
