  1. Imagine Durban, as part of their Open Forum series, will co-host a public discussion on climate change with the Democracy Development Programme. Join us to find out more about climate change, climate justice and the prospects for the 2011 negotiations.
  2. The Municipal Institute for Learning (MILE), a municipal knowledge sharing institute of the eThekwini Municipality, will co-host a two-day master class for scientists, politicians and officials in the days prior to the convention. The master class will take place on 23-24 September 2011.

The South African Government, through the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), South African Cities Network (SACN) and eThekwini Municipality, have partnered with ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability in hosting a convention on climate change adaptation. Taking place 25-27 September 2011, the convention will be in preparation for the United Nations climate negotiations taking place later this year in Durban.
